Sleep music that slows down with you
Soft, slow pads at around 60 BPM, with no drums. It starts from the mood you're in now and, within 3 minutes, winds you down to a calm, sleepy one, then keeps playing for as long as you need.
What makes good sleep music
Across hundreds of thousands of tracks on sleep playlists, sleep music is much quieter, lower in energy, slower and more often instrumental than other music. Sleep studies often use instrumental music at 60 to 80 BPM, close to a resting heart rate. And a Cochrane review found that listening to music may improve how well adults with insomnia feel they sleep.

How this sleep music works
- Starts where you are. A short color quiz reads your current mood. Over 3 minutes, the music slows and softens from there, rather than asking you to switch off at once.
- Nothing to wake you. No drums, no sudden changes, and only a few soft notes over long, slow chords.
- Never loops. The music is composed as it plays, in your browser, so there is no repeating track to notice.
Tips for sleeping with music
- Keep the volume low, just loud enough to hear.
- Make it part of your routine: start it as you get into bed, every night.
- Use speakers, or headphones that are comfortable to lie on.
- If you only want it for a while, set your device's timer to stop playback.
Questions
Does sleep music help you fall asleep?
It may. A 2022 Cochrane review of 13 trials found that listening to music may improve how well adults with insomnia feel they sleep. Evidence on other measures, such as how quickly people fall asleep, is weaker.
What BPM is best for sleep music?
Sleep studies often use music between 60 and 80 BPM, around a resting heart rate. This sleep music settles at about 60 BPM.
Will the music stop on its own?
No. It keeps playing, and gently changing, until you stop it. If you want it to stop after a while, use your device's timer.
Can I leave it on all night?
Yes. There are no drums or sudden changes, so it stays in the background. Keep the volume low.
Is this sleep music free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no account, and nothing interrupts the music between tracks.
